The 11th Southern Folk Cake Festival 2024

In order to preserve and promote the value of Vietnamese culinary culture and the value of Southern folk cakes, Can Tho City will organize the 11th Southern Folk Cake Festival 2024 from April 17 - April 21, 2024 (March 9 - 13 of the lunar calendar) at Binh Thuy District Square (Binh Thuy Ward, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City).

The opening ceremony is going to be held at 7:00 p.m. on April 17, 2024 and is broadcast live on Can Tho Radio and Television.

This year's event is held with a scale of about 200 to 250 booths of folk cakes, regional specialties and cuisine. In addition, many unique and attractive activities will take place such as: Offering folk cakes on the occasion of King Hung's death anniversary (at Hung King Temple in Can Tho City), Folk cake making contest and demonstration of how to make cakes, display of traditional Southern folk cakes, an area where artisans perform baking arts, nightly art shows for serving visitors, and promotional activities to promote tourism and local specialties...

This is an opportunity for Can Tho City, provinces and cities across the country to promote Southern folk cake specialties, creating conditions for businesses and cake artisans to meet, exchange and build their brands of local folk cakes.

In addition, the Festival also contributes to strengthening links between provinces and cities in the region and the whole country in promoting trade, tourism, and investing in the development of typical cuisines and products of the Southern region.

The 11th Southern Folk Cake Festival in 2024 promises to bring a joyful and exciting atmosphere to the people of Can Tho City in particular and the people of the South in general. Thereby, the event will attract a lot of tourists to visit Can Tho city on the occasion of Hung King's Death Anniversary (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
